New Editorial Members

We feel very happy to declare the following colleagues have officially served as editorial members in 2010 since the second issue of Journal of Cardiovascular Disease Research (JCDR) launched. We believe that with their aspiring participation, JCDR editorial board will be becoming more and more productive and efficient; with their outstanding expertises, JCDR will be becoming more and more influential and strong.


Editorial Board Member

Dr. Yan Li, M.D.& Ph.D. Currently she serves as a research fellow in Division of Hematology/Oncology, Indiana University School of Medicine, USA. Dr. Li specializes in stem cell biology, tissue repair and tissue engineering. More than 12 years' experience in biomedical research field, she has authored over 20 publications in top scientific journals such as Cell, PANS, Blood and Hum Mol Genet etc.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Jiusheng Deng received his Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University in Israel. After finishing post-doc in Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Emory University in Atlanta, he serves as Research Associate in Stanford University Medical School. His research focuses on how immune system orchestrates arterial wall inflammation in human vascular diseases. He has authored a serial of publications in Circulation, Circulation Research, Nature Immunology, and Nature Medicine.


Editorial Board Member

Dr. Jan D. Schmitto completed his cardiothoracic residency at University Hospital of Gottingen, Germany as one of the youngest cardiothoracic surgeons worldwide. Presently, he serves as a fellow in the Division of Cardiac Surgery, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Cardiac research has always been an integral component of Dr. Schmitto's academic career - leading to a high number of scientific publications, including several first-author-papers and two books. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several international professional journals.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Vakntang Tchantchaleishvili is a surgeon at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He has authored several publications and book chapters. His research expertise involves a spectrum of topics related to the cardiovascular system ranging from subcellular to systems level and including, among others, tissue engineering and stem cell therapy, implantable medical and surgical devices, cardiothoracic surgery, and critical care.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Jing Dai, M.D. & Ph.D., currently she is a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Institute, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, USA. Dr. Dai's research focuses on the signaling mechanisms underlying the most common cardiovascular diseases including heart failure and atherosclerosis. Given her expertise in cardiovascular field, she has been invited as reviewers for more than 8 peer reviewed journals and also as judges for international conference.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Yueting Shang, M.D. & Ph.D. Presently, she serves as a research fellow in the Department of Cardiology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA. With 8-year research experience in cardiovascular diseases, she has authored over 10 publications, and contributed 1 book chapters. From 2002 up to now, 5 of her first author and co-author outstanding research achievements have been invited to present in AHA and ATVB Scientific Session. She will be re-opening her clinical practice in USA from July, 2010.

Dr. Yanhui Li, M.D., Associate Professor, presently Dr. Li serves as Consultant Cardiologist & EP attending physician in Heart center, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University. More than 15 years' career in Cardiology, He is quite accomplished in the field of CCEP and CHF. He has authored about 60 publications, edited 3 and contributed over 10 professional book chapters.

Dr. Zhenquan Jia, Ph.D., is currently an Assistant Professor of biomedical sciences at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Research Assistant Professor (joint) in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Jia has published widely and was the recipient of many grant awards. Currently, he is severing as a member of editorial board for Toxicology Letters and an ad hoc reviewer for numerous prestigious journals.

Dr. Wenbo Zhang, Ph.D., is a research faculty in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicity, and Vascular Biology Center in the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Zhang works in the field of diabetic vascular complications. He has 13 years' research experience in vascular inflammation and had authored many papers in prestigious journals, such as Am J Pathol, Circ Res. Dr. Zhang was awarded fellowships by AHA and JDRF for his study of diabetic complications. He serves as reviewer for many international journals and grant foundation.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Nan Zhang, Ph.D. Research fellow in Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Zhang specializes in the research of blood pressure regulation, lipid metabolism and vascular biology. He also has extensive interests in toxicology, drug design and application of nanotechnology in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Jianyang Du, Ph.D., Research Associate, Howard Hughes Medical Institute/University of Iowa, USA. He has authored 20+ peer-reviewed publications, 15+ conference abstracts. He is an invited reviewer for several prestigious journals. His research works have been presented on AHA annual meetings, EB annual meetings, Biophysical meeting, etc.






Editorial Board Member

Dr. Peng Liang, M.D. & Ph.D. Presently, she serves as an attending cardiac physician in Cardiology Department, Beijing Chuiyangliu Hospital, Beijing, China. In the last six years career in cardiology, she performed many inheritance and clinical researches on inherited arrhythmia especially Brugada syndrome and LQT3. Moreover, she achieved pathogenetic research on myocarditis, participated in clinical research on the value of ankle-branchial index in high risk population in China. She has published many papers and contributed over 4 book chapters.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Hui Cheng, Ph.D. Her doctoral research was to study hypothalamic glucose-sensing mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. Currently she is a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Translational Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, working on the molecular mechanisms of cardiac toxicity of targeted cancer therapeutics. She has authored over 10 publications and reviewed for several professional journals. She has presented her work at the annual meetings of the Endocrine Society and recently also joined AHA.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Guihua Li, M.D. & Ph.D., Cardiologist, presently Dr. Li serves as an attending cardiac physician in Cardiology Department, Beijing Chuiyangliu Hospital, Beijing, China. He specializes in both in cardiovascular disease basic research and clinical treatment, emphasizes on PCI and the prevention of in-stent restenosis. More than 10 years experience in Cardiology, he has published about 15 articles in national and international professional journals.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Haitao Lu, PhD, Research Fellow at Diabetes Research Center, Albert Einstein College of medicine. His work focuses on studies of diabetes using animal and tissue culture models using mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and lipidomics analyzes. More than five-years research experiences at biomedicine, he published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented more than 20 abstracts/articles in international or national scientific conferences. Currently, he serves as editorial board member and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Ai-Hui Tang, Ph.D, physiologist. Presently, he serves as a research associate in Department of Physiology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, USA. More than 10 years career in Physiology and Pathology of cardiac myocytes, he experienced in the myocyte Ca2+ signals with electrophysiological and imaging approaches and numerical simulations. He has authored over 10 publications in last 5 years.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Qiong Gan, M.D. & Ph.D. She works as a research associate in Cardiovascular Research Center at University of Virginia, USA. Her current research is supported by American Heart Association fellowship. Over eight year's research in cardiovascular diseases, she has authored over ten publications on several high-ranked journals and has presented her work in international meetings. Her work is mainly focusing on molecular regulation of vascular smooth muscle cell lineage differentiation from multipotent stem cells and phenotypic modulation during vascular diseases.




Editorial Board Member

Dr. Yang Yang, Ph.D., he is a research associate in Georgia State University. His research interest is about the regulation of ion channels and the role of ion channels in cardiovascular diseases. He has excellent publication list and his work has been highlighted in several international meetings.
